About the Studio

The SkySight studio is located at 113 North Main Street, in downtown Greensburg, just a few steps from the historic courthouse. The building was originally built as a home, later transformed into Lee’s diner, and over the years has housed many successful businesses. Autumn began her studio in a smaller space in the Union Trust building, but renovated this building in 2009 which is now the current home of SkySight Photography. Autumn has created the studio to be a comfortable, safe place for children to feel as if they are in their own home. Her layout concept, with brightly colored walls and fun props, encourages children to play and be themselves, so she can capture photos of their true personalities.

The space is wide open, instead of smaller confined rooms, which works well even for the most shy of children. Her theory is that most children do not like photos taken in the traditional portrait studios, because the small rooms make them feel as though they might be at the doctor’s office. Our hundreds of props range from newborn crochet hats to victorian furniture, and more. She also hosts many commercial clients and large family groups here, everything from headshots of attorneys to groups of ten or more. For a more private shoot, such as a maternity or newborn session, we can provide that atmosphere as well upon request.

We encourage you to come and experience the ambiance of historic downtown Greensburg, with a crepe & latte at the coffee shop before your photo shoot, boutique shopping on Pennsylvania Ave after your photos, and lunch at one of the many fine restaurants – all within walking distance. You are sure to enjoy your time at our fun studio in this great location, so call today to schedule. Our calendar usually is booked approximately two to three weeks in advance, with occasional openings sooner for special requests.

Scheduling Your Session

We are a boutique studio that takes only 6 maximum sessions per week, so we can concentrate on giving you an amazing experience, unique products and perfection in quality.  Because of our limited session times, we recommend calling about two weeks in advance of your preferred appointment time to schedule.  However, session availability varies seasonally and sessions are less available during our peak months, September – December.  When scheduling your session, we will also schedule you for your View & Order Appointment (see below).

Shortly after booking your appointment, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us.  This e-mail will also include an attached Pre-Session Style and Planning Guide.  This guide will review what to expect during and after your session and answer common session prep questions, like what to wear and how to choose a color scheme.

Your session fee plus tax (6%) will be due at the time of your session.

After Your Session

After your session, you will return to the studio for your View & Order Appointment, at which you will view your proofs and finalize your portrait order.  Each of our session packages includes a $200 print credit, which you use toward your purchase of gift prints, portrait prints, framed prints and select Fine Art Collections.  Once your print credit is used, you are also able to purchase additional Collections and any other A La Carte Items.  Please see Print Prices for pricing details on these items.

At your View & Order Appointment you’ll also be able to view grouping samples and suggestions, sample specialty products and review your “photographers picks” – Autumn’s favorite images from your session!

After your order is placed, average turn-around time for orders is one week.  Please note:  Order turn-around time is subject to increase during the studio’s peak months, September – December.  Orders including framed prints, specialty items and designed items will also have an increased turn-around time.

Location

Our studio sits on North Main Street in downtown Greensburg.  In relation to the courthouse, the courthouse sits on the corner of Otterman Street and North Main, and we are located diagonal across that intersection.  We also are across the street from Stage Right and the Cellar Door Cafe.

There is access to street parking, and meters only need to be fed from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  There is also a metered parking lot directly across from the studio.  If you find both of these areas are full, you can try to wait it out – typically the turnover in that lot is about 5-10 minutes, so you should find something rather soon.  Other parking lots and areas that are typically open for parking are: The Bell Parking Garage on Otterman Street across from the Palace Theater, the parking garage on Maple Avenue between Pittsburgh Street and Otterman Street (parking below enters from Maple Street, parking above is accessible by turning down the alley next to Mr. Toads, which is a left turn from Otterman Street just before getting to the courthouse), and metered street parking on Maple Avenue near St. Clair Park.  Note that a half hour in the meter is 25 cents and we usually suggest plugging the meter for at least 90 minutes to be on the safe side!

Directions

Coming from the west (Pittsburgh/Monroeville) it is best to take the turnpike to the Irwin exit/Rt.30. Take Rt 30 East towards Greensburg from the toll booth, and go 7 miles. After passing walmart on your left, take the Pittsburgh Street exit on your right. Go 1 mile (pass the Westmoreland Hospital) and you will come to the court house / Main St. Make a left and go one block, we will be on your right.

Coming from the north (Delmont/Apollo) we suggest taking Rt 66 south, past Kings in delmont and take the first right just before getting onto the 66 toll road, this will take you all the way into downtown Greensburg turning into Main Street (we will be on your left)- this route has no tolls. OR keep going straight onto the Rt 66 turnpike toll road. Take the exit for Rt 130 and go left onto 130. This will take you straight into downtown Greensburg, passing Seton Hill on your right. Go through one light when you reach town and then turn left onto Pittsburgh Street. Go two lights then and make a left onto Main Street, go one block, we will be on your right.

Coming from the east (Ligonier/Latrobe) it is best to just take Rt 30, past the Westmoreland Mall and continue straight into downtown/business Greensburg. You will be on Pittsburgh street headed west. Go 1.5 miles approximately from the mall, bearing right at about 1 mile (there is a Y in the road with a BP Gas station in the middle of that fork). Just past that fork in the road, you will crest the top of a hill and see the court house – make a right there onto Main Street. We will be the second building on your right immediately as you turn.

Coming from the south (Uniontown) you will take 119 North then merge onto 66 North toward Greensburg. This will turn into South Main Street. Continue to the courthouse and we will be on your right just a half of a block further.
