Romance at Hartwood Acres
by admin_skysight | August 4, 2011
We had a lovely and romantic engagement session this month at Hartwood Acres, a 629-acre Allegheny County park located north of Pittsburgh. Bride-to-be Valerie and her finance met Autumn for a sunset session at the park, mansion and grounds that comprise Hartwood. Having never shot there before, we were excited to find several great spots for photos:
Most notable of these, of course, is The Lawrence Mansion. The Mansion is a 16th century tutor-style house, formerly a private home, which was built in 1929 and is maintained on the grounds. As stunning as it is on the outside, take a look at the interior of the home, too – it’s living history!
Also, take a look at a few photos from the session that feature the mansion:
The park also includes several interesting and beautiful sites not shown in these few photos – a stable complex, riding trails, gate lodge and outdoor stage and amphitheater. The park has tours of the mansion and grounds and events year-round. During the holidays, they also have a spectacular light display. Scroll through their list of events and current summer concerts here.
And, last but not least – congrats to the couple! Thanks for introducing us to this great locale, and many happy wishes for your big day!
